I love this old film. "Green Pastures" was a play then a 1936 movie fantasy about a Southern Black Baptist Heaven. Being Black, and raised as a Catholic, Buddhist, Baptist the lovely 'surrealness' of this picture captured my imagination.
I first saw this wonderful film when I was little. A local station used to play it every year at christmas time. They'd play "Christmas Carol",..the Alistair Simm version too. Of course I loved them both.
"Green Pastures" is my "Red Shoes", though "Shoes" is in my top three. "Pastures" being number one. My number three changes with my moods.
So this is my holidaze card to you.
