"Nuke over Brooklyn"

Well that's what it looked like at first. I had to dig into my backpack to find my camera. By the time I took the shot it was kind'a not as dramatic.

Yeah okay the exposure is fucked, and it's out of focus. Still ya should'a been there it was pretty awesome !

...take my word.

Speaking of being buried under a pound of peach's. ...like my camera was. Please link to my "Royal Republic" blog. I don't say much there either, but it's full of neat pictures, and videos.

There's a sweet post full'a nice Japanese ladies. As you know I have a secret fantasy of being turned into a Japanese lady all dolled up in colorful silks, and stuff.

Eh,..It's a long story.

My dear pal Nurse Pickles wants to help me dress up as a Geisha for the Halloween Parade in Greenwich Village this year. I have ta tell ya I'm thinking seriously of doing it. Imagine the Hulk in a kimono.

Album cover material for sure.

Stay Tuned.

"Mermaid's Parade"

"Coney Island"

(Please click on all photos to enlarge, and see all the 'crystal clear' sandy details.)

"Mr.., & Mrs. Satan"

These here are two are my dearest pals, and fans. The Royal Satan's! Often misunderstood, especially by the religious right.

The Satan family are actually just regular folks, and can be seen enjoying the summer sights like any swell couple.

Like Satan always sez,"...is that a joint in your mouth or are you just glad to see me?"

"Mrs. Satan, & Nurse Pickles"

Mrs. Satan, and her lovely sister Nurse Pickles pause to powder their noses during the "Coney Island" festivities. Nurse Pickles besides being a decorated reserve officer in the Royal Canadian Navy is also 'my' personal physician, 'and' advisor on being a stylish cross dresser.

Eh, I got this thing about being a Geisha lady. I may go as one to the "New York Annual Halloween Parade"...ahem. Umm, long story. I'll talk about it later.

"..yet more Mermaids!"

"Moon over Brooklyn"

I was stumbling around the waterfront,..an old habit. Anyway there I was when I happened to notice that the moon was up. Not only up, but seriously full of itself. What a beauty.

One of these daze I'll get a real camera, and take proper snaps of our old sweetheart up there. For now you'll have to settle for the blurry smear which is above posted.

How I loves La Luna!

I often put Her crescent phases into my ink sketch's of Angels, and Faeries. With good reason too. All that Moon stuff is "peace/holy", and sacred to more than a few of us down here.

"...and they danced by the light of the Moon, the Moon." "They danced by the light of the Moon."

Watch the Skies.

"Mermaid Parade"

Saturday June 21 in the year of Neptune 2008! The Annual Mermaid Parade! It's that time again. All good fishies, faeries, Angels, and thirsty sweaty guys like me should go to Coney Island, and bare their family jewels!

However I shall be reasonable, and keep my aged bahzooms covered. Ahem. I shall wear a festive hat instead.

As always the radio station is sending a delegation to the festivities. I'll be with them, and taking a bunch of digital snaps to slap up around here.

See you there.

Stay Tuned.

"Wo Hop"

Our beloved "Wo Hop" has been feeding generations of Wbai staff folks. The first day I came to work for Pacifica Radio back in october 1978 I was introduced to the wonders of this little chinatown noodle shop by the 'oldtimers'. The joint was an ancient tradition for that mob even then!

I think I had the "Chicken Curry Noodles",...still loves'em.

Tradition matters. It's the glue of the human universe. It's what we hang our soul's hat on. For some it's a religion, a political party, family or you name it. For our bunch it's that damned noodle shop.

Long may she stew!

"Cat Heaven"

Above is an old pal of mine. "Pussifica the Cat" He was possibly the only F.C.C. licensed feline in the world. (2nd class broadcast board operators ticket) Puss was our radio station's cat for nearly 18 years. We're a Pacifica Network station,...Wbai.

'Founded by Pacifists ya know.

There she is Patron Saint of cuddles, leftovers, contact highs, and cat box's. I miss him or her,...was never quite sure, anyway I miss my furry pal like crazy.

Sleep tight Comrad!

"Lightning Hits Bklyn Bridge"

"It was a dark, and stormy night,..."

No, no vampires or republicans wandering about. However for reasons unknown the City put on a short fireworks display over the East River. This during a heavy summer downpour in the middle of the night.

That's what I likes about NYC. Ya never know what's waiting for you around the next corner. I'm gonna assume they was testing the rocket barges out. This for the annual July 4th display.

Anyway while the Parks Department was shooting up the sky a huge bolt of lightning hit the Brooklyn Bridge. Another one hit the Woolworth Building a few seconds later,...didn't get that shot.

Drat!

(The video is just a minute or two long, and the hit comes toward the end. Watch the left side of the screen.)

"Hot as Hell!"

It's been in the high 90's, and 100's around town for daze now. This shit piss's me off big time. When it socks in like this. I usually shut the curtains, and turn the air conditioner on high, and hibernate till october.

As for them ecofreak, nutjobs that harassed me the other day saying using a/c is un-natural. That and we should embrace nature, and enjoy the heat. 'Are these wacko's kidd'n me?!!

Turn that sucker up! I wanna see icicles forming on my windows pronto!

Ahhhh, a large "Lime Ricky" slopped over with crushed ice,....Heaven!
