Sometimes I watch myself in the third person. It's like a halfway out of body thing,..in a way. You know how it is. I'm sure most of you have done it.
Anyway I watch as I revert to a child's simple fascination with bright, and tiny things.
I'm beginning to think that all of our high'n mighty concepts, and postures are really the bullshit we quietly suspected it is. That's what's really important are the smallest, and simplest things in our lives.
Hence my love of the quiet, and tiny.

I think it's interesting that the cultural assumption is that a "second childhood" is somehow a bad thing, or a sign of mental weakness or degradation— yet we revere the concept of childhood.
So why don't we celebrate the re-claiming of a blessed child-like state, instead of being condescending and negative about it? If you could just somehow track the very day that this reclamation took place it would be cause for a big party. A very joyful celebration. A second birthday!

My first stepmother, the nice one, had a VW just like that. The old hippiemobile has good associations for me.
Her daugher, my stepsister, had a horse. At age seven or so I was placed on the back of this huge beast. I was terrified.
