"Beans'n Franks.

"I'm an American veteran and I'm one of your middle class Americans. And quite frankly, I'm exhausted. Exhausted of defending you, defending your administration, defending the mantle of change that I voted for and deeply disappointed with where we are right now.

I've been told that I voted for a man who said he was going to change things in a meaningful way..."

"My husband and I have joked for years that we thought we were well beyond the hot dogs and beans era of our lives but quite frankly, it's starting to knock on our door and ring true that that might be where we're headed again."

"Quite frankly, Mr. President, I need you to answer this honestly. Is this my new reality?"

Eh,...actually I've been living on mac'n cheese, and beans, and franks for about a year now. Amazing the many ways you can cook these things. There's a few websites that help the downsized adjust to eating trash as opposed to food.

I always thought what an irony it was for me personally. That I came out of being homeless on the same day as Obama took the Oath of Office. Where now millions have lost their homes, and taken my place on the streets during his first two years.

No he didn't cause the collapse, but he hasn't done enough to help it's victims either. He insists on working with the system as is. Unlike Roosevelt who said "fuck this", and wrote new rules.

So - I am still waiting to hear what answer Obama gave to the middle class lady who doesn't like beans and frankfurters.

Umm, I think he said something about "eating cake" or something.

Yeah, "...they can eat cake."

That, and some static about how it's bad for everybody, but he's working on it, and how somewhere in the future it will get kind'a better for some,..maybe.

Actually that 'is' pretty much what he told her.

Basically we're fucked.

I wish that old dead guy, and Palin had got elected 'cause then we could blame everything on them.

NO you don't, Uncle..they would have appointed TWO Supreme Court judges by now and having that stupid bitch a "heartbeat away" from the Presidency is an awful thought.

We've been sold enough excrement in that office over the years, we now have a good, intelligent man untouched by scandal. I do wish he were a more effective communicator

Look, historically it takes some 18-24 months after the end of recession for the improvement to filter through in society.

I am in the restaurant business (owner/partner in 26) While the domestic market remains the worst I have ever seen, the locations in tourist areas of midtown are well on their way to recovery. We have actually added staff in several to ease "slow service" complaints.

The TARP ended with the Government likely getting a profit and there are new safeguards in place (till the gop kills them) to prevent a second recession..you'll notice talk of a "double dip" has faded in the last 6 weeks.

We've turned the corner.
Be patient.

Lino's right, Palin and McPain would be horrible: even though the gop-pers will blame Obama for the consequences of their fuck-ups.

Man I sure hope that's true, 'cause a double dip ain't gonna be like a second dip of chocolate on our ice cream.

As for the lady who shares my taste in food, maybe she should start a veggie garden. It's the wave of the future.
