Okay we know the drill by now. The Republicans are a gang of blood thirsty Nazi bastards. Our only hope is the Democrats. They're all that stand between us, and losing our jobs, and getting kicked out on to the streets.
Eh,...wait a sec,...

Having had time to reflect upon it, I am inclined to agree with your statement of a year or so ago that Hillary would have done a better job as President. She is far from being my favorite person, and is still a member of the corporate-serving class, but at least she would have had the guts to push through a real health care bill - probably.
Well before 2020 the world economy in general and the USA in particular are going to be in such a mess that it will no longer be possible for that army of spin doctors collectively known as the Media to keep even a nation of narcoleptic self-deceivers in the dark as to the true state of affairs. By that point everyone in political life will be furiously pointing fingers of blame in all directions but their own. So the winner of the next presidential election may well be running to see who can win a place in history as the president and party who blew it for everyone.
Zaek, if you think Hillary "would have had the guts to push through a real health care bill" why the fuck didn't she do so when her husband Bill Clinton put her in charge of doing exactly that early in his presidency? Huh?
What a fucking load of crap. All these bastards are out for themselves and their rich friends to whom they are indentured, lock, stock and barrel.
They care about "the American people" only as far as they can dupe them to putting them back in office.
Don't a believe a word of it. Ignore the fuckers. They are useless bags of shit. End of story.
At that time Bill Clinton, not Hillary, was president. A president's wife, whether "put in charge" or not, doesn't wield the full authority of the presidency, no matter how much her spineless spouse says she does.
That said, you're probably right. I expect we would do better to ignore national politics except insofar as necessary to know when to duck. It's better to pay no attention at all to politicians, even if only to slam them; it just encourages them.
At this point they're basically bag boys for kleptocrats who are stripping the last of the wealth from the national coffers. It'll be interesting to see if any of these characters wind up going the way of Marie Antoinette like I think they deserve to.
In short, I think what we are doing here is refuting Sidney's statement that this is going to be interesting. It will NOT be interesting to see how the canned and packaged electoral circus selects which of the bag boys gets to deliver for the big boys. It will be a crashing bore. Nothing less than an overthrow of the usurocracy they work for would be interesting in my book.
Any alternate history leading to a desirable future would have to diverge from ours some time well before Reagan.
I say interesting because revolutions are easy to contrive like the tea baggers. They're nevertheless hard to control as the Republicans have discovered.
The Democrats have a similar problem with the Midwestern Labor revolt,..which may be why they haven't openly embraced them.
Still the corporate teabaggers, and the Labor Revoluionaries will have an effect, maybe a major one on the 2012 circus.
Lately there was a labor demo near my place to support the workers in Wisconsin. It'd be nice to see labor get feisty again - and something of a miracle too, sort of like the raising of Lazarus.

You've got it right Zaek!

This I call interesting.

Actually I'm looking forward to the floor fights at both the Republican, and Dem. conventions. This as both are assaulted by their radical wings.
Sidney, the Dems don't have a "radical wing" any more.
