1. Toys are FUN 2. Toys are CUTE or Quirky or interesting 3. Toys make any room a nicer place to be 4. Toys can be interactive, from Pogo sticks to matchbox cars to Teddy Bears --all levels of activity. 5. Toys usually don't cost as much as other collectibles like guns and Civil War Memorabilia. 6. Toys are more fun than a $600 handbag designed by Michael Kors. 7. Toys are ice breakers for parties --people love to talk about their favorite toys. 8. Toys are a good blog post subject. 9. Toys are fun to photograph in odd settings (a few years ago I took a small "Bert" doll to Ireland , and photographed him in scenic places. He was glad to be on vacation from Ernie, by the way. ) 10. Toys: when I hear or see the word I instantly think of the old FAO Schwartz store, and also the five and dime, and Christmastime long ago when I got the toy fire engine I so desperately wanted. these memories are highly visual--the interior of a toy store--what could be prettier?
This Christmas, I'm buying everyone on my list a TOY. thanks to you.

Yeah about Bert'n Ernie. It's been on the grapevine that they were on the rocks for a while.
What with Ernie's addiction to cotton, and his hanging out in those Marionete clubs.
Then that rumor that he has a woolite infection that he picked up from from unprotected sex in them sock puppet sleze bars.
Getting Bert out of that lint hell was the best thing ya could'a done for him.
