"New Money"

These are some proposed new bank notes for our land of the free.

Assuming the 20%+ of unemployed Americans ever get jobs again this is what their dough may look like. We're almost 100 years overdue for a major overhaul of our currency. There's all sorts of noises that we'll finally get one soon.

The "Teabaggers" want Ronny Reagan on the $50. dollar bill. Many would love to see Joe Lewis, aka the "Brown Bomber" on the new $25. bill. The Feds are also thinking of issuing a $200. bank note as well. Makes sense what with prices being what they are.

I'd like to see Chief "Crazy Horse" on that one. ($200. dollar bill) He's already on stamps, and his great mountain memorial will soon rival Mount Rushmore.

They're already changing the coins. The nickles, and quarters regularly change with regional symbols.

They keep trying out dollar coins, but they suck. No one likes them because they're small, and always bland. ...also the 'phony' gold plating wears off too fast.

Unattractive, and or boring small dollar coins confront folks with proof that the dough is nearly worthless. They already know this, but would rather not have it rubbed in their faces.

There must be a way of abolishing this whole ancient, and evil wealth/poverty/money cycle. After all those anarcho/socialist/space guys on "Star Trek",tm, seem to have pulled off that trick okay.

I mean I've watched every episode, and all the movies. Even number five which got boos from a Trekkie audience. Heck they even threw stuff at the screen it was so bad,...but they stayed for the whole movie. ...as did I. Even stood in the damned snow waiting to get in!

That's loyalty.

Trekkers can put up with almost any sort of dreary shit from the writers,...except for Start Trek Five,...don't get me started.

("Star Trek V",...good grief had these guys no shame!)

Anyway these future space folks never had a Galactic Depression. I never saw homeless Vulcan's, or garbage on the streets of Indus V. No dog shit in front of Star Fleet Headquarters neither. Sure dogs might be extinct by then, but you gets the point.

"Hard Rain!"

Well there I was minding my own damned business as we all should. When out'a nowhere gawd sent tornado's to blow the hell out of us,..so to speak. The Emerald City, aka New York experienced several twisters, and near twisters late in the afternoon.

Imagine my surprise as I was awakened from my medicated stupor by my windows rattling like crazy, and the afternoon sky black as the hearts in the Republican party.

What the fuck,...sez I as the building shudders, debris fly's by my brittle, darkened windows, and the terrified talking head on tv goes bug eyed, and generally induces mass panic by saying we're under attack by gawd's vengeance against secular humanist sodomite loving, left of center New York!

See video!

No that wasn't me,..I have nicer digs. However you gets the picture. Tornado's are becoming more regular in this part of the country thanks to planetary heating warming the oceans, and seriously screwing up the winds.

I've read that London is starting to have the same problem. You guys may be using your tube stations for a different sort of Blitz soon. Watch ya backs comrades.

On the up side gawd favored my block again as there was no serious damage, other than folks wetting themselves, and branches in the street. Also my floors got wet as rain shot horizontally through the portals my cute hovel.

Me I was in the closet. Just like old times,..ahem. No not that one I mean the hallway closet riding out this latest end of the world.

They say out in California one should stand in your doorway in an earthquake. ??? Out in the mid-western tornado alleys they say get into your bathroom, and lay down in your tub.

That at least makes a bit more sense than that doorway thing. The Emerald City doesn't have a safety tradition for extreme weather yet. Usually when shit happens we ignore it, and go about our business. Blizzards, hurricanes, tremors? Bleep it I'm busy.

I think this tornado this is finally something we may have to pay attention to. I mean what with these things able to pick up houses, cars truck, buses, and even trains, and hurl them sometimes for miles.

Yep, I'm impressed.

So comrades time to consider how to live your life on a 'slightly' more hostile planet. I mean wow this was 'worse' than being on a stalled "D" train in the Bronx, that, and almost as bad as the prices for tickets at the new Yankee Stadium,...greedy bastards.

(Folks in Montana watching tornado in their backyard.)

(..they seemed real calm about the whole deal.)

"Republican Maniacs Win!"

(No offense to J.C. it's some of his fans that are the problem.)

The far right candidate of the Delaware Republican party, Christine O'Donnell, has won the primary for the Senate. Defeating the moderate Republican traditionalist Mike Castle.

Pundits are saying that the Reps have unleashed radical movement they can no longer control. November 2010, and the November 2012 elections may see radical right candidates running for national office.

Depending on the stupidity of the American voters in these upcoming contests. We may either see drastic change to the very far racialist right or the final end of the Republican party as we've known it.

Given this country I'd say a bit of both.

I mean with so many of them Tea folks being so nuts that even traditionally stupid Americans may not vote for them. For heaven sakes that O'Donnell gal founded an organization to stop people from masturbating.

The only real fun the unemployed still have.

Apparently jerking off makes Jesus upset. That, and she wants to abolish Medicare, and Social Security.

Swell.

As for this radical right movement. These guys are politically gambling the farm on appealing to as usual, white fear, and rage. The numbers say it all. By mid century this will no longer be a White country.

So no surprise that the Tea Party is 98% white, middle aged or elderly. This is why they say they, "...want their country back."

Thing is according to the Census the rest of us are out-fucking, which is to say out-babying them like crazy.

The Tea party is now clearly seen as the expected reaction to the on going ethnic shift in our beloved nation. The election of Obama, by a multi-class, race, and orientation coalition is the first unmistakable sign that the daze of the old hegemony are over.

America is re-making itself again,..that's what we do.

Anyway me, I'm not worried. That movement doesn't appeal to people under 30 so has no legs. That, and the biological fact that the "We want our Country Back" crowd will be gone in 10/20 years or so.

Yeah so will I, but so what I'm having a ball watching these guys go nuts.

The United States of American is becoming Brown. ...like me.

Don't worry we'll be far nicer to you than you were to us,...mostly.

"Monday the 13th"

Beware Friday the 13th falls on a Monday this month. Sneaky bastard. Don't date any black cats, so to speak, or drink any Lime Ricky's till sundown. Then of course it'll all be cool. Other than that it's a fine early fall day in the Emerald City.

I mean besides the rain, wind, and religious riots.

Btw some Chinese navy ships paid us a visit. They looked neat. I was especially happy that the comrades just came to say hi, and buy trinkets. Trinkets that were very likely made in Shanghai.

I'm not complaining. I'd rather run into these guys on the subway than have them off the coast lobbing missiles at us.

In checking out PRC naval design their older stuff is standard old Soviet format, but some of their newer ships seem to follow French designs. Interesting.

Like I sez just another swell day in da Land of da somewhat Free.

Stay tuned.

"Oh the Sound of Merlins"

"Actually this is good for me."

No I'm not upset or raging. This is a 'good' sign. I'm enjoying things I like again. Yeah I know I'm sort'a a pacifist, in a way kind'a. Still I got this jones for WW2 flying machines. What can I say,..they don't call us baby boomers for nothing.

Wait, yeah, yeah I know war is bad. WW2 was awful. Gimme a break it was in all the papers. I'm just talking model kits, and cool videos.

See back in the day, a good part of a century ago, my aunties would get me model kits of these things, and it stuck.

I Still love building kits, and lately I am again. That is when I can afford it.

You won't believe it, but kits that went for a buck or two in the old days will now go for $20 to $60 dollars today. Plastic is a petroleum by product so surprise the hobby has gone upscale.

Anyway I'm fine, swell. Now if I start posting that 'end of the world' mayhem again,...well.

"Bollywood Obama"

The Indian press got pissed when our hero's up there were depicted as sacred beings. Folks have no sense of humor when it comes to their invisible deities in the sky. Actually neither do I. Go after Tinkerbell, and it's a throw down pal!

On the other hand sez a viewer,...

"This is such a global world... I'm sitting here watching a Indian style video about the president of the United States eating Chinese food in Iceland."

Btw I really love the new Indian Anthem. Why can't we have something this cool.

"9/11"

At last serious construction at Ground Zero. That, and the 9/11 Memorial Lights. I was standing by Trinity Church, and the Stock Exchange, and took these snaps. I just noticed these are slightly blurred,..it's really windy downtown so it was hard to be steady, but you get the picture so to speak.

I'm impressed by the construction going on at Ground Zero. If they don't stop again we may get somewhere in a year or so.
