Check out the links on left, under the clock, of my radio programs. The most recent on the morning of the End of the World. It starts with the end of the show ahead of mine a "psa" commercial, and then I show up with all my noise.

Btw the mp3's may have the archive station i.d. loop for a few seconds before some of the shows. Also I think one of 'em has a few minutes of some other show at the beginning as well. Who knows how the hell that that happened.

I'm on two or three times a month plus specials or guest host gigs. My real job is just studio engineering. I'm forced to put morons, and assorted fanatics on the air, and make them sound sentient.

Anyway I'll put my shows up as they're b'cast. I always meant to to this, but over the years just never got around to it. ...go figure.

Below is a video of the famous or infamous alleged recording made by a Siberian scientific team back in 1960. They drilled down 14 kilometers (?!), and apparently found Hell. Well that or at least the local franchise.

The Slingshot ride was opened a few weeks ago at Coney Island. It's a tad scarier than most supposed. What with being shot two hundred feet into the air with no clear means of getting down.

Even I might think twice about this one.

Btw did you hear that McDonalds just hired 60,000 folks over a few days. That's more than the U.S. government has hired in two years. Unfortunately they ain't living wage gigs at the burger empire. Annual salary comes in at just below the poverty level. ...after taxes.

Btw taxes can take anywhere from a third to a quarter of a working person's wage. Corporations some of them pay 0%.

Oh did I mention that 900,000 desperate some experienced, and highly educated people showed up for those 60k menial jobs. Ya gotta figure that for everyone that showed up there was a few that couldn't make it or had given up. So I figure say 2 1/2 to 3 million 'wanted' one of them dead end jobs.

Unofficial unemployment still lurks around 20%+ tho' the Feds only admit to maybe 7 or 8%. They say numbers talk. Well these scream in agony.

(An ongoing theme here for some time has been the clear demise of our Empire. Okay we don't call it that, but ya know what I mean. I just noticed that it's a tad worse than I thought. Seems the Man of Steel has been eyeing the 'kiss off' clause in his contract, and has decided to terminate the relationship. Leaving the land of the nolonger so free behind.)

Since he crashed down from Krypton 1938, Superman has been as American as apple pie. With the wind rippling over his red and blue costume as he flew through the air, through comic books, TV shows and movies, the Man of Steel has served as a prime representation of all things to which America aspires.

Now, in a time of great international turmoil, Superman is giving up his national identity.

In "Action Comics #900," Superman will renounce his American citizenship, rejecting the international notion that his actions are part of US policy. The shift comes after a personal visit to Iran in support of protesters leads President Ahmadinejad to believe America was declaring war against the government in Tehran.

By rejecting his citizenship, Superman will now work on a grander international scale, because, as he says, "truth, justice and the American way... it's not enough anymore"

Whether this impacts the upcoming Superman franchise reboot film "Man of Steel," remains to be seen, but it will most certainly take the legendary hero in a new direction.

(Below is a possible explanation for what I saw at Ground Zero the other night. See my posts further down with thoughts, and snap shots on the night Osama was killed.)

MSNBC just did a story on something that I had wondered about as well --- why were so many big celebrations after the announcement of bin Laden's death particularly raucous among college students around the country?

They showed footage of various campuses and interviewed a couple of the students who explained that they were in the 6th grade when it happened and were just thrilled that it was finally over and that justice was finally done. It was truly a huge, patriotic moment for them.

I realized that the "War on Terror" has been going on for half their lives, so it seems like forever to them.

And it reminded me just how much the zeitgest of the moment is "reality" when you are young. The war on terror, and the militarization of America is just the way the world is to young people today.

Which is probably why they also believe in this:

A new study by the American Red Cross obtained exclusively by The Daily Beast found that a surprising majority—almost 60 percent—of American teenagers thought things like water-boarding or sleep deprivation are sometimes acceptable. More than half also approved of killing captured enemies in cases where the enemy had killed Americans.

When asked about the reverse, 41 percent thought it was permissible for American troops to be tortured overseas. In all cases, young people showed themselves to be significantly more in favor of torture than older adults.

Torture has been around as long as there have been wars, but media coverage of enhanced interrogation techniques has risen the visibility of torture since the attacks of September 11. Could the generation who came of age since the towers fell have a different notion of what’s acceptable in a time of war?

“Over the past 10 years, they’ve been exposed to many new conflicts,” says Isabelle Daoust, who heads ARC’s humanitarian law unit. “But they haven’t been exposed to the rules.”

The reasons may be even more nuanced than that—a combination of social and political factors new to the national conversation since the Bush administration claimed that today’s enemy was different from the ones we’ve fought in the past. Intelligence attained through controversial interrogation techniques, Bush’s lawyers at the Department of Justice argued, may be the only way to save American lives. A 2006 dossier detailing the U.S. government strategy to combat terrorism described the difficulty of pursuing new enemies who constantly “evolve and modify their ways of doing business.” As a result, the document suggested, the military would have to evolve its understanding and treatment of the enemy.

Legal scholars see societal influences that may be responsible for de-stigmatizing torture, including increasingly graphic media. “I think it suggests the national conscious is becoming more and more corroded and more accustomed to the violation of fundamental principles of human rights and international law,” says Lawrence Tribe, a constitutional law professor at Harvard, who blames programs like 24 that trivialize serious issues. (Tribe, along with nearly 300 legal colleagues, sent President Obama a letter last month decrying the prison conditions of Bradley Manning, the army private accused of leaking classified documents to WikiLeaks.)

It's a new world. Just as it was when I was growing up in the 1960s under the influence of the peace movement and the changing social norms of that time. It took me quite a few years to realize that everyone (except my parents) didn't see things the way that I did. I just thought that my worldview

I was down at Ground Zero on Mayday night among the cheering youngsters. That's the point the very young, they were under 12 or 13 for 9/11. So this was a cloud over their entire lives. Older people like myself are more reflective about this death of Osama. However it's clear from viewing, and speaking to the kids this is like the death of Hitler or Stalin. A demon is gone, brought down. That's how they see, and feel it.

Crowds cheer at Ground Zero, Times Square, and outside of the White House over the demise,..killing of Osama Ben Laden. Young celebrants called this their generation's V-J Day,..victory over Japan WW2. As I say above for them perhaps it is. However I doubt this will end the war. I don't know what happens next, but I doubt it will be world peace.

Osama Bin Laden has been killed by American Special Forces tonight in Pakistan. It would have been better if possible to capture him alive, and try him in the County of New York, Manhattan, where his organization committed their crimes.

Crowds are cheering in Times Square, and outside the White House. I think it would be perhaps better if we reflected on all the loss of life in the world, and the self inflicted loss of Freedoms at home.

We should consider the decade long wars we, and organized terror have engaged in, and it's cost.

They're my great, great grandparents. Below them are their children my great grand's I think. The Darker of the sisters was by another man. For Heaven's sakes! Oh my family! Oh the South!

This below is part of my family now. Two cousins Dionne, and Monique,That's and my sister Sylvia in the middle. That's me below them a few years ago.

On the left, click to enlarge, is a Slave manifest from the ship the Pioneer. These persons were bought by my white great, great grandpa or perhaps 'his' father, not sure, in 1848. Josephine in not on the list as she was born on the plantation.

My cousin Monique is now the queen of all Internet searches. It was her voracious searching that turned up my second great-grandfather’s **Civil War era sword** on ebay, a portrait of one of our ancestors at the Maryland Historical Society on their online database, and me on ancestry.com. Now, she’s done it again. Monique found another one of our cousins, again on ancestry.com. (I think that internet genealogy site is going to have to start paying her soon – she’s a walking commercial for their services!)

Meet cousin Sylvia Smith Isabel. She lives a short bus or train ride away in New York and is as passionate about uncovering our family’s history as Monique and I.

Keeping track of all these cousins can be confusing so here is how we’re all related:

The ancestors that all three of us have in common are Tempy Burton and Col. W.R. Stuart, aka The Colonel. Tempy was a slave in Elizabeth McCauley’s family. When Elizabeth married the Colonel, Tempy was given to the couple as a wedding gift. Elizabeth couldn’t have any children but Tempy could and did have seven, probably all with The Colonel. But two of her children were definitely The Colonel’s, documented through their death certificates. They were Alfred Burton Stuart, Tempy and The Colonel’s oldest child and Josephine Burton Ford, their youngest child. Alfred was Monique’s great, great-grandfather and Sylvia’s great-grandfather. Josephine Burton Ford was my great-grandmother. Using the cousin calculator that makes Sylvia and Monique first cousins, once removed, Monique and I third cousins, once removed and Sylvia and I plain ole third cousins.

Two days after Thanksgiving, Monique and her family came over to our house and we had a few good hours of laughs over all the things we’ve found this past year and we were feeling pretty thankful, like we’d reached the peak of our genealogy mountain and could just take in the view. Then, two days later, with the discovery of Sylvia, we had even more to be thankful for, and more history to uncover (her dad grew up on Alfred’s farm and told her stories of Alf working as an unofficial town vet – news to us!). It feels like we’re at the beginning of another journey.

Cops handcuffed a 7-year-old at a Queens school after he became upset while decorating an Easter egg, his mom said.

Joseph Anderson, a first-grader at Public School 153 in Maspeth, was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center in metal cuffs, even though his mother told school officials she was on her way to pick him up, mom Jessica Anderson said.

"He was crying and saying, 'I want Mommy,'" Mrs. Anderson said. "Why handcuff him? Why get the cops involved? He's only 7."

The little boy has begun wetting himself in the middle of the day and throwing up since the April 13 incident, his distraught mom said.

"If he hears an ambulance, he runs under the bed and screams, 'They're going to get me,'". "He's really traumatized. I don't let him watch the news anymore, because if he sees cops, he cries."

Anderson said the school called her about 12:30 p.m. to tell her Joseph - who has attention deficit-disorder was not having a good day, and she said she would pick him up.

Turns out, things were far worse than she imagined.

The boy told her he became upset because the color on the egg he was painting didn't look the way he wanted, and staffers threatened to send him to the hospital if he didn't stop crying.

Scared, the boy then jumped up on the table and said, "I just want my mommy," his mother said.

Wow shows what happens when you over sleep. I have been too. Early spring fever I guess. Anyway I can't help, but note that the geo-political stability of a big chunk of the world has gone to hell.

There's folks in my 'hood looking to by them pills for radiation sickness. Amazing what a little media fear mongering can do. I tell my neighbors it's more likely that they'll be the next host of the "Tonight Show" than get the slightest wiff of any Japanese gamma rays.

They ignore me, and run down the street screaming about the end of da world insurance, and the Blessed Virgin Mary.

If I'd been awake'n thought about it I might have set up a table on Flatbush Avenue with all sorts of bottles filled with brightly covered pills,...aka jelly beans. That, and handy family sized six-packs of anti-radiation juice,...Kool-Aid.

Damn! Missed out again.

Aw well there's always a chance that L.A. might slide into the ocean. I could use them jelly beans,..I mean anti-radiation pills as anti-earthquake pills. That, and my Y-2K supply of beef jerky as end-time emergency suppositories.

"Old New York"

Well for me "Old New York" is the immediate post-war years. I was born in 1950 so remember the city from the early '50's. The town still looked much as it did in the 1930's. It didn't radically change till the 60's, and then again in the 1980's. It's doing it again now.

However I have a romantic memory of how things were then, and I miss it. Not the crap, and awfulness, but the sense of things as they were. ..or at least as I remember them.

The city was historically interesting then. We've lost so many of the late 19th, and early 20 century places, and things. Places taken for granted for generations.

For example my Mom, when we went shopping, would take me to lunch at the "Automat",..yeah that one. The for real as in 1920's/30's movies Automat. Many streets were still cobblestone. This from the era of horse drawn wagons, and carriages.

Also people dressed better. There was more of a consciousness of appearance. One that had nothing to do the the fashion dementia of today. It had to do with self respect.

Well-to-do middle or working class all dressed as best as they could when they went out. I remember my Dad taking me, and my sister to our neighborhood park. We dressed up! He wore a tie, jacket, and fedora, and we wore clean play clothes. I don't have to tell you what it's like now.

There were no glass, and steel clad skyscrapers. Everything was granite, limestone, and marble. I used to think that the buildings were made from Graham crackers, and cookies. This because in the afternoon sun that's exactly what they looked like.

A whole city made from cookies or biscuits..for you folks in the Commonwealth.

You could tell the cars apart as well. This because each manufacturer had radically different designs. ..at least as compared to today. Our rides are made of plastic, and look like melted sneakers. They give just as much mileage too.

The subways system still had rolling stock from the late 1920's , and earlier in service. Everything from the "AB Standard" 1914 model to the 1948 Red Bird was banging around our tunnels.

You could stand on the platform, and see the whole history of subway trains fly by! Also while standing there you could get a five cent Coke out of them classic neat old machines, and candy was one cent!

Aw man, and comics were a dime.

I remember on one birthday my dad got me a dollars worth,..Ten comics!

A vast fortune in kid currency!

Best of times the worst,..blah, blah you get the deal. It's just that things seemed to matter more then. As I say I think we were all more connected to our person-hoods back in that day. Stuff mattered, had value all that.

Mind you maybe them that was adults back then might think all this is a load of crap. Hey I was a kid, and this is what it looked like to me.

Anyway I was just thinking about them times is all.

Wow! Now this is why I love the Emerald City. If it exists it's somewhere in town. You want curry bar-b-q, and re-fried beans to go,..no problem. I'll take two.

For years take out food was a way of life, and massive fat builder for me.

However now I cook veggie stews, and soup, thanks Nurse Pickles!, and have cut the meat by 80%. Who the hell can afford it anymore. Heck I'm losing a bit of weight for the first time in decades. I thought there was something wrong with my clothes.

Turns out I was shrinking into them.

Good grief!

I still do the take out mambo from time to time! I tell ya A better diet or the New Great Depression will make the pounds melt off,...take ya pick.

Mind you when the petrol, and clean water, and food runs out this town is going to get seriously interesting. Btw I have a pal that's for real stocking up ammo, and supplies for the Great Fall. Till then lets eat!

Then little radish folks went through 'all' that just for you. So the least ya can do is eat'em. Com'on you've had more serious stuff in ya mouth than this! Well alright you can wash this down with magic shruums, but eat ya damned radishes!

No not just the Black ones. The Black kids have been poor forever. Usually at 60%+, but who cares. No I'm talking white kids. Ya know the ones everybody wants to help. Anyway by the numbers 25% of the kids in this country is poor.

This don't count the ones that have been poor for *18 months. After that deadline like the unemployed none of them are counted anymore.

So if ya adds them 'all' in lets call it 30/35% of the kids in this country are eating off food stamps.

*Not everyone qualifies. Apparently being poor'n hungry ain't enough to get government stamps or cards.

The same food stamps the Republicans want to either drastically cut back or abolish.

I just thought I'd mention this.

Btw the Republicans just voted to de-fund all of Public Broadcasting. So I guess you won't be hearing much about any of this anymore. Damn we won't be seeing "Dr. Who" anymore either.

At last some of the hideous towers of the new World Trade Center complex are rising out of the 9/11 crater. It'll be 10 years in September so they're rushing the job. The Memorial Center is supposed to be done by August.

Even our intelligence guys are saying it's curtains for the resistance. They have the heart, and motivation, but are vastly out-gunned. That's just the hard math of this war.

So in a few weeks when Qaddafi wipes out the last rebel strongholds, and the world forgets anything ever happened out there. The Libyan people are in for a reign of terror, and full gulags as the Boss's vengeance is brought to bear on them.

To judge by what he's done in the territory he's retaken so far expect mass executions, and the usual hacking's, and gouging. This mixed with a desperate hit, and run guerrilla war by remnants of the rebel forces.

Think the Balkans back in the 1990's when the west also sat on their ample butts, and looked the other way for years.

On the other hand. The E.U. us or the Easter Bunny might finally smell the oil, and take out Qaddafi's air force. This would radically change the game.

Nurse Pickles, and I went shopping a few weeks ago. This after another bout of oral surgery for me. She walks me there in moral support,..what a pal! Anyway while intensely looking for just the right potato peeler in a discount mall I happened on an unusually neat kids book about the former Space Age!

Boy those were the days.

Anyhow as consolation prize for not spending all my dough on Barbie dolls dear Nurse Pickles let me but the book. She helping me with my banking. I have no concept of managing such things, and too often make myself broke.

The money shot is that the book had all sorts of neat stuff about Comrade Laika the space dog who was shot into space,...and left there.

Truly a hero for the Every Dog.

Basically he was screwed at birth. Found wandering the alleys of Moscow the Workers Paradise thought it would be a swell idea to murder Laika in space. "Who cares it is just dog" I don't know if some heavily medal-ed commissar actually said this, but they might as well have.

This trip was just to rub the "First in Space" business in the Yankee Imperialists faces. I don't think Laika or the other four legged candidates were consulted. So Laika is a martyr for all of us proles getting the brown end of the stick.

Btw here's a neat graphic novel about our hero. Eh, a "graphic novel" is a nice way to say adult comic book. Nick Abadzis, and First Second press have issued "Laika". It's a heart warming, and sad tale of a dogs life. I loved it.

Yeah I actually spent money on other than food, meds, and rent. Not an easy thing for most Americans to do right now.

Speaking of which did you know that just 400 people at the top of the economic food chain in this Republic have 'more' wealth than 'half' of the rest of the population of the Fucked Over, and Robbed States of America?

We're 'not' a poor country as some hope you'll believe. The wealth is still there. It was just stolen is all. A relative tiny handful have more dough than 'half' of our whole population.

Recent experiences with both cats, and people convince me that both are simply too dangerous to have in close quarters. People can turn on you out of the blue, and cats shit in your hat.

All in all the solitary life is better.

Now a pet brick or rock is worth considering. Not only are these guys low maintenance, but you can throw them at cats or people should the need arise.

On my radio show,(wbai.org), a listener pointed out the near impossibility of life in a studio apartment. For those of you living in civilized countries,..Canada or maybe Idaho. A NYC studio apt. is a 'very' small place.

It's about the size of a living room not counting the kitchen, and bath areas. Small. They sell for maybe quarter a million dollars if you can get a deal. They rent for $1k to $2k a month,...depending.

My listener said that one could never maintain a relationship, and certainly not a marriage in so tiny a place.

No privacy, no personal space whatever. You'd be at each others throats in days.

I mentioned that I doubted one could even live amiably with a parrot in so tiny a cell.

I can picture it now. Me, and my parrot "Chucky" slowly get on each others nerves. The little buzzard reads my priceless first edition R.Crumb comix's, and tears'em up with his claws. That bat watch's my porno dvd's, and don't put'em back where they belong. He sheds feathers, farts, and craps all over the place!

One night the flying rodent goes too far!

He comes home fucked up on whiskey, and angel dust. He's got some crack whore pigeons he'd picked up at some dive in the Bronx, and starts fucking'em on my bed. My Bed!!

...then he throw up!

Documentary filmmaker Thomas Allen Harris believes a photo is more than just printed paper - it's also a patch of community history that shouldn't ever be lost.

This week, the Bronx native is quilting photos and the stories they evoke into the Digital Diaspora Family Reunion Roadshow, an interactive, multimedia picture book of sorts.

His goal: To create a collective cultural history of colored New York.

Harris and his team started interviewing New Yorkers earlier this week at the Harlem Stage Gatehouse on Convent Ave., combing through curled, yellowed images from weddings, parties, holidays, dance recitals and formal portrait sittings.

The interview process "tends to be the very first time they've shared their photographs with someone outside of the family, so it's a moment of discovery for everyone," Harris said.

Sylvia Smith, (my dear sister), of Chinatown, showed up with a thick stack of pictures of relatives who danced their way into show business, and old newspaper clippings about her grandfather's brother, who was lynched in the Deep South.

"I heard this was like that traveling Antiques Roadshow, but for family photographs," said Smith, 58, referring to the PBS series about antiques appraisals. "For me, family genealogy is a passion. It's part of our history, an American story of migration and immigration that hasn't been written about yet."

( Yep that's my dear sister speaking. She even had a 100+ year old photo of Great Grandma. Also snap shots of Grandma, and my Mommy, as a little girl, in San Francisco during the last Great Depression.)

Who'd 'a thunk it. Americans actually fighting for Economic Justice. This hasn't happened since the last Great Depression. 'Guess shit has to get 'this' bad before cops, and workers march together to make sure their kids eat.

Did you hear about that? When the tea-party nut job Governor of Wisconsin ordered the heat, the cops to bust up the rallies, and clear out the State House they said "bleep you", and joined those that had taken over the building.

That's what shook me out of my cynical lethargy. I expected the heat to bust heads, and the protesters to slink away grumbling like they always do.

Or maybe not. Things are desperate, and have been for years. Indeed the middle class allowed the ownership class to rob the country blind. The needs of the poor, and working poor hasn't been on the table for decades. Nearly 50 years in fact.

So that's not what's driving this. The Ownership folks have gutted everybody, and everything, and are now set to finish off the middle class. That's what sparked this.

Teachers, cops, nurses, carpenters, firemen, heck even communications engineers like me, and all the other barely functioning middle occupations are on the chopper now. I guess we're not going to go as quietly as expected.

Granted there's mostly a news blackout on this resistance movement. As opposed to their tea-party opposite numbers. 200/300 tea-party folks showed up to counter the nearly 70,000 pro-union activists.

The tea-nuts got all the face time on tv. You would have thought the numbers were opposite from what they were. Life in a free country. Still despite this news in getting out to the whole world,..even the rest of the U.S.of A.

Proles from sea to shining sea are sending support to the folks at the front. Everything from warm gloves to pizzas. Even my useless union AFTRA is marching in Solidarity. There's a big demo planned for here in the Emerald City that I plan to join up with.

Still being the pissed off cynical bastard I am I'm not sure if this Mid-Western Revolution will spread. However I'm glad, very happy indeed it's happening.

Gives one heart to know that some are actually awake, and have realized that we're in a cattle car headed to the 3rd world. ...not a place we really want to go to.

I always assumed that "Coloreds" were barred from passage on the Titanic as well as other luxury liners of a century ago by the tradition of Jim Crow.

On American lines this was mostly true. However on the White Star line apparently no specific regs. were written down. None that I've so far found.

On February 21st 1965 Malcolm X was executed by the then "Black Muslim" organization, now the "Nation of Islam". Elijah Muhammad the head of this sect is widely believe, by those outside of the group, to have ordered this hit after Malcolm X departed from the strict tenets of Muslim beliefs.

After Malcolm X went on his famous Hajj to Mecca he began to grow, and evolve towards a more humanistic view of society. In the Mid-East, and Africa he saw people of all colors within his faith treating each other with respect, and affection.

This clashed profoundly with the "Nation's" insular ethnic/racial values.

He was still a radical for racial justice, but nolonger trusted by the sect. He was changing, growing, evolving. Becoming more, much more than he was when he joined the Black Muslims.

This was perhaps Malcolm X's worst offense against his former mentor Mr. Muhammad, but certainly not the first. In the end his potential as a strong rival from within or a threat from without of the race nationalist movement cost him his life. History can only wonder what Malcolm X could have achieved had he survived.

I have personally witnessed that in the decades since his murder only Malcolm's pre-Mecca speeches, and actions are commemorated. The true reasons for his murder glossed over. His more worldly views pushed to the side. Only the angry racialist is honored among too many.

Even responsibility for his killing is shifted to other parties. Some vague conglomeration of local rouge cops, the Mob, and the FBI are to blame.

Mind you none of these groups were remotely sorry to see Malcolm X killed. It is a certainty that they would have eventually done it themselves. It's just by historic chance that the Nation got him first. He was indeed a dangerous man. He had the potential to radically bring people together. Not unlike Dr. Martin Luther King.

Imagine a Malcolm/King alliance.

Such would have been the System's worse nightmare. These men 'had' to die to keep things as they were. You'll note that in the nearly half century since the 1960's political eliminations no other major social reform figures have been assassinated. No need since no one has threatened the status quo as seriously since.

The Nation of Islam is main-stream now. They have no interest in changing anything. Nor it seem does anyone else. The system doesn't shoot people that work to foment distrust, and keep people apart. Such movements, and personalities are assured of long untroubled lives.

Although the last several daze have been well below freezing. Temps in the teens, and wind chills below zero! That, and snow squalls all the time,..one this afternoon for a while.

Did I mention we still have four, and five foot filthy piles of frozen slush everywhere.

In spite of all the frozen noise today there was a change in the air. The wind was still frost bite bait, but different.

The air had an edge of spring about it. The winds had the sweet scent of growing things. The trees were giving off springtime pheromones.

Baby pigeons,..rats with wings, have hatched, and are starting to swarm about. Though freezing today had the feel of spring. One could actually feel warmth from the sun. A sensation not felt since maybe late October.

'Course this means that heat, and humidity are just weeks away. This because our spring only last at best 10, 12 days. There's two basic seasons around here,...Blizzard, and Heatwave.

Mind you we can still get two or three big ones in the next month or so. However we've turned the corner on this particularly Arctic winter of 2011.

My Big Brother Johnny was a good father, husband, son, brother, friend, scholar, gardener, and war hero. He cared passionately about people, and the world. He started an outreach, and homeless rescue, and rehabilitation center for the veterans of his war, Vietnam, and all the others that followed. The complex now bears his name.

Btw he was commended by three different Presidents from both parties for his Veterans outreach work. John was further honored by being the first veteran to be buried in the new military cemetery in San Diego a few days ago.

He also thought my being Queer was fine. Back in the day that really mattered.

I have to go to the Dentist then a Memorial for an old pal. Fred Goldhaber one of the founders of the Gay Men's Chorus, and a bunch of other things. As well as the first teacher at the Harvey Milk School, and btw a Wbai radio person in the 1980's.

For those out there that may have known Fred, and are in the Emerald City area. Fred's send off is going to be at the Gay Community Center, 208 West 13th Street at around 7:00pm.

I really love my "Jeannie" doll. I adopted her last fall,..I think she's the last doll I got. I'm trying to control myself. Anyway I only just now opened the box. She does really sweet head'n shoulder shots. I'll make more snaps of her soon. I want to show her in Islamic backgrounds. Something the 1960's tv show never did.

Granted the whole thing is kind'a racist, and stereotyped,...but I still likes the doll. The TV show too.
